An opportunity to manage the Supply Chain of a leading Medical Device and Medicines provider.

The incumbent manages the procurement of medical device and pharma product lines from multiple suppliers into several distribution sites across the UK & IRL in a regulated and GDP compliant supply chain. The Procurement & Inventory Manager will lead the procurement team on a day to day basis.
Our client procures stock from hundreds of suppliers covering thousands of SKUs from Europe, Asia, USA etc.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

Overseeing the setting and managing of stock levels appropriate to the business.
Responsible for managing ERP System accuracy, controlling and maintaining stock accuracy and monitoring variance.
Ensuring back orders are kept to a minimum in line with agreed targets
Liaising with the sales teams and suppliers, to ensure a high standard of service to our customers is maintained.
Preparation of short and long term forecasts for optimisation of procurement process and contributing to efficient working capital expenditure.
Management of inbound freight services including road, air, and sea (including deep sea Asian freight) in accordance with local Custom / Import Regulations & GDP
Development of TAs with suppliers as required, to assure GDP compliance
Co-ordination of new product set-up in line with SOPs and database procedures
Building and maintaining good working relationships with key stakeholders, both internal and external to the organisation.
Overseeing KPI reporting and vendor management on a monthly and ad-hoc basis
To lead and develop the capabilities of the Purchasing/Procurement function and to take ownership in the management of employee work lifecycle events e.g. setting and monitoring of objectives for team members, training and development etc.
Ensuring product recalls or FSNs are managed appropriately in line with SOPs
Provision of support to SAP roll-out programme across the group, as necessary from time to time
Adhoc duties as directed by the operations director and required by the role.

Qualifications & experience:

A 3rd level qualification in logistics or a business related field.
At least 3 years supervisory and/or management experience within a procurement / logistics / supply chain function and hands-on management experience of managing a team of dedicated and committed individuals to produce a team performance in line with objectives
Experience with modern ERP systems (such as SAP, Oracle, JDE etc)
Procurement & logistics experience within a GDP and HPRA/MHRA regulated environment
Experience in preparation of management reports
Good proficiency in MS Office applications including Excel, MS Word and PowerPoint
Preparation of short and long-term forecasts
Knowledge of Irish/UK Healthcare supply chain involving medical devices and pharmaceutical products
Hands-on experience in the operation of stock counts and reporting
Flexibility, as off-site travel and work will be necessary from time to time

Desirable / advantageous:
Hand-on SAP experience, including SAP MRP
Experience of Qlikview or similar management reporting systems
Knowledge of Irish and UK custom and import regulations and procedures
Experience of 3PL outsourced logistics within a GDP environment
Experience in participating in FSNs or product recalls in line with HPRA / MHRA Regulations and GDP
Hands-on experience of far east planning, procurement and freight services
